Meet the Founders

Dr. Amanda Gordon

Dr. Amanda, a licensed veterinarian, is one of the co-founders of Wildwood In-Home Pet Euthanasia. Growing up with numerous family pets, her family helped foster a deep respect for the human-animal bond. This passion eventually led her to starting her veterinary career as a veterinary assistant, where she first met Angelyn Smith (her future co-founder) at a clinic in Tualatin, OR. This was the beginning of a strong professional and personal friendship that has continued to develop over the past 10 years.

After completing her Bachelor of Science in Health Science, she transitioned to veterinary school where she graduated in 2017 with her doctorate from Oregon State University. She then moved to Vancouver, Washington to work in small animal general practice while earning her Master of Science in Veterinary Forensics. As Dr. Amanda moved through various branches of veterinary medicine during her career, including shelter medicine and end-of-life mobile care, her and Angelyn’s paths continued to cross until they more permanently intertwined their careers by starting Wildwood In-Home Pet Euthanasia.

In Dr. Amanda’s free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and her two cats, Tundra and Pebble. She is an avid musician who enjoys playing and listening to a variety of music. She also enjoys kayaking, hiking, traveling, reading, and attending concerts.

Angelyn Smith

Angelyn Smith is a skilled and compassionate veterinary assistant and co-founder of Wildwood In-Home Pet Euthanasia. With a love for animals that knows no bounds, she provided exceptional care to both pets and their owners during challenging times, while also offering crucial support to Dr. Amanda as a colleague and friend.

Starting as a veterinary receptionist in 2013 where she first met Dr. Amanda, Angelyn worked her way into a more medically-inclined role as a veterinary assistant. Through hands on experience, she gained a strong foundation in patient care, medical procedures, and client communication. During this time she found a quiet appreciation for guiding clients through euthanasia appointments as gently as possible and has always enjoyed making special pawprint keepsakes for families after the passing of a beloved pet.

Outside of her work, Angelyn enjoys spending quiet days reading and snuggling with her cat, Amoeba, or playing cozy games. As the daughter of a pilot, she also has an insatiable wanderlust and enjoys dreaming of her next travel destination. Angelyn also enjoys going out to brunch with friends and tagging along with Dr. Amanda at concerts.

Building a Legacy of Compassion

Dr. Amanda and Angelyn’s professional journey began as colleagues, but their shared values and dedication to their patients soon forged a strong friendship. Over the past ten years, they have worked with thousands of pets and their families, facing the full spectrum of emotions that comes with providing veterinary care. Their shared belief that pets deserve to have their final moments in the comfort of their homes, surrounded by their loved ones, led them to create Wildwood In-Home Pet Euthanasia.

Dr. Amanda and Angelyn have made it their mission to guide pets peacefully and respectfully over the rainbow bridge and to support grieving families with kindness and understanding. Together, they are committed to upholding the values upon which they founded Wildwood In-Home Pet Euthanasia: empathy, respect, and unwavering dedication to the wellbeing of pets and their families.
